Carried is designed to be a private space. Your conversations aren't stored as transcripts. What stays on your device is a distilled summary — themes, people, and situations you've mentioned — so the app can get to know you over time. We don't sell your data. We never will.
Carried is built and operated by Intus Logic. If you have questions about this policy, email us at privacy@intuslogic.com.
When you chat with Carried, your messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. This is how the AI works — your messages leave the device briefly to be processed.
Carried uses Sign in with Apple for authentication. We receive only what Apple provides: a unique user identifier and, optionally, your name and email address if you choose to share them. We do not store passwords — Apple handles all credential management.
We may collect anonymous usage data such as number of sessions, session length, and approximate message counts. This data helps us understand how the app is being used and improve it. It is never linked to conversation content and does not include anything you said.
We may automatically collect standard technical information — device type, operating system version, app version, and crash reports — to keep the app working properly.
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Messages (in-session) | Sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate AI responses |
| Living Profile summary | Stored on-device to give the AI context about you across sessions |
| Sign in with Apple identifier | To authenticate your account |
| Anonymous usage analytics | To improve the app |
| Crash / technical data | To identify and fix bugs |
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell or rent your information to any third party.
Your messages are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI. Anthropic has its own privacy practices that govern how they handle API data. You can review them at anthropic.com/privacy. As a general note: Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models by default under its standard API terms.
Authentication is handled entirely by Apple. We receive only the minimal identifier Apple provides. Apple's privacy policy governs their handling of your credentials.
Your Living Profile is stored locally on your device in iOS Secure Storage (Apple Keychain), which is encrypted by the operating system. It does not sync to a cloud server at this time.
In a future version of the app, we may offer optional cloud backup of your Living Profile. If and when that changes, we'll update this policy and notify you in the app before anything leaves your device.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect any data we do hold, but no system is perfectly secure. Please don't use Carried to store highly sensitive information like financial details, passwords, or legal documents.
